Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Riser Team at The Bushcraft Company. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in the delivery of drilling riser systems and tensioning equipment for upstream oil & gas projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Administration: Ensure all assigned projects are administered in accordance with our Quality Management System and contractual obligations.
  2. Project Management: Maximize customer satisfaction and company profitability by effectively managing projects from initiation to closure, while ensuring monitoring and control.
  3. Project Implementation: Implement projects according to contract terms, project goals, and objectives, including regular interface with stakeholders.
  4. Project Definition: Clarify scope, estimates, and assumptions with the sales team during project handovers.
  5. Project Kick-Off: Ensure all appropriate projects are kicked off, with effective meetings and project scope.
  6. Client Interface: Attend client meetings regarding project matters as required.
  7. Project Planning: Prepare project plans in a timely manner.
  8. Project Scheduling: Create and update project schedules, ensuring critical path activities are understood and communicated.
  9. Risk Management: Identify and implement risk response planning, while upwardly referring issues.
  10. Project Change Management: Proactively manage project change, including preparation of variation orders or concession requests.
  11. Procurement Management: Ensure project procurements are considered in terms of cost, time, and quality.
  12. Commercial Management: Understand project commercial drivers and costs, controlling activities to limit adverse impact on project finances.
  13. Documentation Management: Prepare documentation packs for workshop activities and worksite execution.
  14. Design Engineering: Ensure the Design Engineering department is appraised of project scope, with all engineering activities and calculations carried out to verify equipment and procedures.
  15. Offshore Attendance: Where contractually obliged, attend offshore to assure project execution and fulfillment.
  16. Project Metrics: Collate project metrics and report building during project execution.
  17. Project Reporting: Provide project reports and weekly time sheets, end of project, lessons learned, and technical reports as required.
  18. Lessons Learned: Capture lessons learned throughout the project and feed back to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  19. Sales Support: Liaise with the sales team to identify and respond to project sales opportunities, assisting with bid preparation and quotations.
Requirements
  1. Education: Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or 5 years' experience in an Engineering environment in upstream oil & gas.
  2. Computer Literacy: Computer literate in Microsoft Office 365 and other Microsoft software.
  3. Industry Knowledge: Application of HP drilling riser products & services in the upstream oil & gas sector, would be an advantage.
  4. Project Management: Project management, quality management systems, health and safety, safe systems of work, and legal requirements.
  5. Commercial Experience: Project financing and commercial drivers experience.
  6. Quality Management: Demonstrable experience in project management while adhering to ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  7. Reporting Experience: Experience in the production of programs of work and project management/execution plans and reports.
  8. Travel Requirements: Valid passport, and full UK driving license. Current Offshore Survival and Medical Certification, preferred.
  9. Willingness to Travel: Willing to travel overseas occasionally.
