Teaching Assistant Role in Primary School

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team in a well-established primary school in Truro. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the pupils and class teacher in our Y1&2 Class.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term position for 30.40 hours per week, from 08:45 – 15:15, Monday to Friday, including lunchtime duty. The role will involve supporting the class teacher with lesson planning, providing one-on-one support to students, and helping with tasks. You will also be responsible for supervising group activities and clearing away equipment after lessons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in planning activities and lessons
  • Provide one-on-one support to students and help with tasks
  • Help teachers manage challenging behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
  • Support students' social and emotional development and report any issues
  • Supervise group activities and clear away equipment after lessons
