Operational Head of Commercial

Woodland Group is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team in Seaham. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our operations team, ensuring that business is retained through effective communication and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operation through planning, direction, and control of all operational activities on a day-to-day basis.
- Monitor activity to ensure that business is retained through effective communication and customer service.
- Prepare performance progress reports for senior management on a monthly basis.
- Handle employee absences in line with Company policy.
- Ensure that specific customer requirements are met by working with the commercial team to produce any bespoke Standard Operating Procedures and Service Level Agreements.
- Communicate health and safety and all insurance/legal compliance issues.
- Provide constructive input to the weekly team meetings, working as a team to provide best practice outcomes for the business as a whole.
- Work with the operations team to continually improve processes and business performance.
- Understand and adhere to all Woodland policies and procedures relevant to the role.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Operations Supervisor within freight forwarding.
- Natural ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously when required.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and open-mindedness.
- Self-motivated and driven, with a desire to achieve great success and help build a great place to work.
