The approach should be creative, adaptable, holistic, and trauma-informed, aimed at enhancing student engagement and positively influencing their educational experiences.


Key Responsibilities of the SEN Instructor:

  • Delivering instruction in subjects such as Mathematics, English, or Science to students referred to specialized educational provisions.
  • Supporting students who have been referred by educational institutions and local authorities, addressing their academic and social-emotional needs.
  • Implementing flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring strategies.

Core Duties:

  • Designing and planning each tutoring or mentoring session to meet the specific needs of students.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Valid Professional Teaching Qualifications (Qualified Teacher Status / QTS / QTLS).
  • Proven experience working with students who have Additional Educational Needs.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (assistance available for obtaining this if necessary).
