About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join HM Revenue and Customs as an Information Rights Manager, where you will play a key role in ensuring the department's compliance with the Freedom of Information Act, the Environmental Information Regulations, and the Data Protection Act.

Job Summary

As an Information Rights Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing HMRC's Freedom of Information Team, providing advice and guidance to drafters across the department, and ensuring the quality and timeliness of HMRC's FOI responses. You will also work closely with the Data Protection Team to ensure that HMRC's data security responsibilities are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Freedom of Information Team, providing guidance and advice to team members
  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of HMRC's FOI responses
  • Work closely with the Data Protection Team to ensure that HMRC's data security responsibilities are met
  • Provide advice and guidance to drafters across the department on FOI and data protection matters
  • Represent HMRC's FOI community both internally and across government
Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced leader who has a strong understanding of the Freedom of Information Act and the Data Protection Act. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work flexibly and manage competing priorities.
