About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join HM Revenue and Customs as an Information Rights Manager, where you will play a key role in ensuring the department's compliance with the Freedom of Information Act and Data Protection Act.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage HMRC's Freedom of Information team, ensuring the quality and timeliness of responses to requests.
  • Provide advice and guidance to drafters across HMRC on handling Freedom of Information requests and data protection.
  • Collaborate with the Information Rights Unit to achieve the department's wider aims and objectives.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships at all levels, both within HMRC and across government.

Requirements

  • Effective leadership experience, providing advice on policy, legislation, or complaints.
  • Experience of influencing stakeholders across a complex organisation to deliver results.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to produce clear, concise and effective correspondence, guidance and briefing documents.
  • Delivering successful quality and performance improvements.
  • Ability to work flexibly to challenging deadlines and manage competing priorities.
