Project Overview


As a seasoned Senior Project Manager with a robust background in the construction sector, you will initially oversee a significant new build educational project valued at £20 million.

Your role will be crucial in ensuring the project's successful execution from inception to completion, working in close collaboration with both internal teams and external partners.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:
- SMSTS
- CSCS Card
- First Aid Certification

Experience:
- Proven track record of managing projects in a similar capacity with budgets exceeding £10 million
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within the construction industry, particularly with tier 1 and tier 2 contractors
- Experience in educational projects is a plus but not mandatory.

Role Responsibilities

- Conduct regular project meetings
- Develop and oversee project budgets
- Implement health and safety protocols
- Lead and support the project team
- Cultivate a collaborative and positive work environment
- Provide direction and mentorship to team members
- Assemble project teams and delegate tasks
- Monitor team progress through regular reviews
- Control project costs throughout the construction phase
- Perform risk assessments and devise mitigation strategies
- Conduct inspections to ensure quality and compliance
- Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors
- Ensure adherence to contract terms by all parties involved
- Facilitate the professional development of team members
- Develop and execute project plans, including timelines and resource allocation
- Implement quality control measures to meet construction standards
- Oversee all site operations to achieve project targets
- Enforce strict snagging and aftercare processes to ensure zero defects upon completion
- Supervise subcontractors and foster strong relationships for successful project delivery
- Organize and manage the site team and construction procedures for timely completion
- Collaborate closely with senior management to provide regular project updates, highlighting key milestones and challenges.
