Job Title: Penetration Test Lead

About the Role:

The Penetration Test Lead will be responsible for leading the customer's cybersecurity OT & IT Annual Penetration testing lifecycle. This includes delivering defined volumes of pen tests across various environments, identifying and tiering customer OT & IT assets, and prioritizing and scheduling pen test engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for customer Cybersecurity OT & IT Annual Penetration testing lifecycle.
  • Deliver defined volumes of pen tests across Application, Infrastructure, Websites, APIs, O365, Azure, AWS, and OT environments.
  • Identify and tier customer OT & IT assets, services, and systems.
  • Prioritize and schedule pen test engagements, ensuring weekly, monthly, and annual testing exercises.
  • Engage with Product Group owners and internal stakeholders to ensure no duplications of effort.
  • Manage Annual Pen test Supplier engagements and relationships.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding of 3rd party Supplier resources.
  • Responsible for managing Operational Gas Business Owner relationships.
  • Manage regulated operational sites business processes, including sign-off.
  • Build and own policies and procedures around pen testing, adhering to Best Practices and NCSC guidance.
  • Review 3rd party pen test reports and brief internal stakeholders on findings.
  • Capture and document findings, risks, and exceptions, and recommend remediation.
  • Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to enhance security protocols and remediate findings.
  • Track progression of remediation tasks and report on a weekly basis to internal stakeholders.
  • Update the customer CMDB with relevant vulnerabilities and ensure high security.
  • Provide monthly reporting on remediation activities and track progress to Cybersecurity & I.T Management team.
  • Manage the patching regime to remediate identified pen test vulnerabilities.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of both OT & IT asset profiles, technology, and security best practice principles.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills for documenting findings and advising on security improvements.
  • Must have previous experience working in a technical cybersecurity role.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, cryptography, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Preference given to candidates with OSCP certification.
  • Preference given to candidates with recent experience working as a Pen tester or in a Red Team type role.
  • SC clearance and CREST Certification would be preferable.
  • Proficiency with penetration testing tools.
  • Understanding of OWASP.
  • Understanding of what APIs are, how they're used, and how they can be utilized by an attacker.
