We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Town Planning professional to join our team as the Head of Town Planning. This is a key role that will provide specialist support across the project, including providing advice to senior management and the wider team on town planning matters relating to the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on town planning matters to the project team, including development management, planning legislation, and policy.
  • Manage the provision of town planning advice by third-party suppliers, ensuring that the project's planning requirements are met.
  • Lead liaison with Local Planning Authorities and relevant stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare and present reports on planning matters to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and Local Planning Authorities.
  • Monitor and respond to third-party planning applications that may affect the project's delivery.
  • Manage ongoing liaison with key external stakeholders, including Local Planning Authorities and other project partners.
  • Support the development of the project's planning strategy, including the preparation of planning applications and associated documentation.
  • Collaborate with other project teams to ensure that planning requirements are integrated into the project's overall delivery plan.
Requirements
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
  • Proven experience of working on infrastructure development projects, including experience of managing planning applications and associated documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, Local Planning Authorities, and other project partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide expert advice on complex planning matters.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
