About the Role

Gleeson Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Property & Development team, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple construction projects across the leisure sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead and manage all aspects of construction projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and handover.
  • Consultant Coordination: Obtain fee proposals, appoint, and coordinate consultant teams such as architects, structural engineers, and other professionals.
  • Documentation: Write detailed briefs and scopes of work for consultants and contractors, ensuring clear and comprehensive project documentation.
  • Tendering & Contracts: Manage the tendering process, negotiate contracts, and appoint contractors, ensuring the best value and quality.
  • Site Management: Conduct regular site inspections, prepare progress reports, and oversee defects inspections and handovers.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with Health & Safety and statutory requirements, including building control.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Develop, monitor, and control project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Hands-On Approach: Be actively involved in all aspects of the project, from documentation to on-site delivery, ensuring projects meet their objectives.
  • Multi-Project Management: Efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously, with budgets ranging from £50k to £500k initially, with exposure to larger and more complex projects.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Head of Property Development on project progress, budget status, and any significant issues.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous extensive construction project management, with a preference for candidates with retail and leisure experience.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient in project management software and a solid understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel nationwide on a regular basis (weekly) as required by project demands.
  • Problem Solver: Ability to think on your feet and handle complex situations with ease.
