Job Summary

NRL Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company's quality standards are met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Quality Assurance and Control: Analyze project-specific requirements for quality assurance and control, interpreting regulatory and statutory requirements, codes, and customer specifications related to fabrication, welding, and materials.
  2. Technical Specifications: Prepare project technical specifications, such as project ITP, quality plans, specifications for welding, NDE & Coating, and other categories.
  3. Technical Support: Provide technical support to project teams and support functions during their requisitioning activities.
  4. Vendor Quality Review: Review vendors' quality documentation, e.g., ITP, PQP & Welding Books, etc.
  5. Welding Techniques: Review vendors' welding techniques and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of components, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties, and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engineering principles.
  6. Client Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with client quality representatives to report progress and handle inquiries and issues.
  7. Compliance and Improvement: Drive compliance, ensuring implementation of best practices and continuous improvement of quality standards and quality management systems.
  8. HSEQ Team: Work as a member of the overall HSEQ team, contributing to projects and delivering key messages to the business as appropriate, e.g., participating in certification audits.
  9. Quality Management System: Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System and Health & Safety requirements with team colleagues.
  10. Quality Data: Develop and collate quality data for monitoring targets.
  11. Advice and Guidance: Provide advice and guidance to project personnel on applying the Quality Management System (QMS) for design and execution activities.
  12. Non-Conformance Investigations: Lead non-conformance investigations and root cause analysis.
  13. Quality Campaigns: Develop and implement Quality campaigns and improvement plans.
  14. Site Inspections: Carry out regular inspections and audits of sites, projects, and QMS processes.
  15. QA and QC Requirements: Work with project teams to develop and implement QA and QC requirements and activities.
  16. Project Quality Plans: Prepare, implement, and maintain project quality plans, and support project teams.
  17. Supplier and Contractor Quality: Review, monitor, and report on Supplier and Contractor Quality deliverables and performance.
  18. Internal Training: Provide internal training on Welding and Quality to colleagues.

This role requires regular travel to Blyth assembly workshop and supplier facilities across the UK, as well as international travel. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar quality role, a strong passion for quality, and excellent communication skills.
