Role Overview

Are you committed to supporting fathers in their journey to become confident caregivers, strengthen family bonds, and enhance their support networks? We are seeking a Family Support Advocate to assist young fathers in navigating their parenting challenges, improving family dynamics, and minimizing conflicts.

This role is part of our mental health support initiative aimed at young individuals aged 0 – 25. As we expand our services, we are focused on enhancing outcomes for fathers in various boroughs.

  • Serve as an advocate for fathers, assisting them in fostering and sustaining healthy family relationships.
  • Design and implement workshops and training sessions tailored to the needs of service users, aimed at improving access to support services and enhancing understanding of family dynamics.
  • Collaborate closely with the Program Manager, Therapeutic Practitioner, and other team members to provide comprehensive support to fathers.
  • Regularly report on engagement metrics and the impact of services through feedback mechanisms and written documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience working individually and in group settings with fathers or parents.
  • Background in advocacy or supporting fathers in similar roles.
  • Experience in delivering educational groups focused on mental health and well-being.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and the ability to adhere to safety protocols.
  • Competence in following policies related to data protection and the handling of sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend work as required.
  • Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion within the workplace and the community.
