Science, Art and Food Technician Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Science, Art and Food Technician to join our team at Heath Farm School, part of Acorn Education within Outcomes First Group. As a key member of our close-knit team, you will provide technical and resource support services to our purpose-built Teaching Block, including the preparation of materials, setting up of equipment for class practical sessions and maintaining equipment for use.
Key Responsibilities- Organise the preparation and construction of materials and equipment for use in lessons
- Work as support to teachers in lessons as appropriate
- Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes
- Organise the use of display space within the teaching block as directed by the Science Lead and Deputy Head: Quality of Education
- Aid pupils to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and on their own
- Keep a check on departmental stock levels and support the Science Lead, Art Lead and Food Teach Lead to administer the ordering, issue and distribution of stock
- Minimum of 3 GCSE's or equivalent
- Good literacy and numeracy
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Competent in the use of ICT
- Flexible and approachable
- Ability to deal sensitively with people and help to resolve conflict
