Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Children's Complex Care Senior Nurse to join our team at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS FT. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert clinical care and advice to children and families with complex healthcare needs.

About the Role

As a Children's Complex Care Senior Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to children with complex healthcare needs, including those with life-limiting and deteriorating conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care and advice to children and families with complex healthcare needs
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide symptom management plans for children with acute deterioration or illness
  • Support the Clinical Lead in the development of clinical pathways across acute and primary care settings
  • Provide education and training to staff, children, and families on complex healthcare needs and symptom management
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experience
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN) or Registered Nurse (RN) Child Branch qualification
  • Post-basic training in children's nursing
  • Community Children's Nursing qualification degree level or willingness to undertake
  • ENB 998 (Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice) or equivalent
  • Clinical assessment course/Advanced Nurse Practitioner
  • Experience working with children with complex healthcare needs, including end-of-life care
  • Extensive experience working as RSCN/RN child branch
