About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 7 Senior Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Nurse, you will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care in our Acute General Medicine department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of nurses in providing patient care and supporting the ward manager in the delivery of clinical services.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and safety.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of education and training programs for nursing staff.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical governance policies.
Requirements
  • Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC register.
  • Completion of a relevant post-registration specialist course or experience in critical care or a specialist pathway.
  • Substantial relevant and recent clinical experience in a complex healthcare setting or Acute NHS setting.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding and experience in practice-based supervision and assessment.
  • Leadership and management skills, including team building, time management, and role modeling.
