Bath, Bath and North East Somerset, United Kingdom HCRG Care Group Full time

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Support Specialist to join our Children's Continuing Care Team, providing essential assistance to children with intricate health requirements. This role involves caring for young individuals facing challenges such as tracheostomies, gastrostomies, and other health-related conditions.

Comprehensive training will be provided in all aspects of the role, ensuring you gain the confidence needed to manage these health requirements effectively, ultimately making a significant impact on the lives of the children and their families.

Opportunities Available

We offer both full-time and part-time positions, with shifts primarily scheduled during the night, from 10 PM to 7 AM, and a commitment of one weekend in four. You will have the chance to support one child throughout their care journey, delivering a compassionate and supportive care package. There is also potential to take on additional care responsibilities based on your availability. Many of our team members have progressed to assistant practitioner roles and pursued further training to enhance their professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Support Specialist, your primary duty will be to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to a child overnight, adhering to their individualized care plan. You will play a vital role in fostering meaningful and professional relationships with the children and families we serve.

During each shift, you will complete necessary checklists to ensure you have the appropriate equipment for safe care. The nature of care may vary throughout the night, always in line with the care plan established by our nursing staff. Responsibilities may include personal care, monitoring for signs of discomfort or illness, and knowing when to reach out to parents for guidance and support.

Shifts commence at 10 PM and conclude at 7 AM, taking place in the comfort of the family home, with access to an on-call staff member for any questions or concerns that may arise.
