About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Theatre Support Worker to join our dynamic team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a Theatre Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our perioperative team in the delivery of safe and effective surgical services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the needs of children and young people, including nutrition, hydration, dignity, and respect. You will be able to provide essential care to patients as directed and work collaboratively as part of a diverse team. Previous experience in a hospital or community healthcare setting is desirable, but not essential, as we offer comprehensive training and support to help you develop your skills.

As a Theatre Support Worker, you will be responsible for assisting registered nurses with delegated clinical tasks, maintaining a clean environment, and contributing to an inclusive workplace culture. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge through in-house study and training programs.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • GCSE (Grade 4 – 9) in English and Mathematics or Functional Skills level 2 pass in English and Mathematics or equivalent recognised qualification
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or Healthcare Support Worker Level 2
  • Care Certificate
  • Willingness to develop and undertake in-house study
