Job Overview:

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Storage Systems Engineer to join our team at GBA5 EntServ UK Limited in Derby. As a member of our infrastructure services team, you will play a key role in designing, deploying, migrating, and managing infrastructure services across a range of technologies. This includes servers, storage, networks, mainframe, AD, SAP Basis, public and private clouds, data center tech, containers, middleware, databases, modern device management, intelligent collaboration, IT asset management, field services, and technical service desk operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Management: Assist in managing and operating infrastructure services, offering support to the team.
  • Strategy Implementation: Contribute to the implementation of infrastructure projects and strategies.
  • System Performance: Help maintain infrastructure systems' performance and availability by troubleshooting issues.
  • Collaboration: Work with other teams to understand their infrastructure needs and assist in design and implementation.
  • Best Practices: Take part in implementing best practices and process enhancements in infrastructure services.
  • Documentation: Assist in crafting infrastructure documentation, including policies, procedures, and reports.
  • Resource Optimization: Aid in optimizing resource allocation for infrastructure tasks and projects.
  • Communication: Provide clear communication to support and collaborate with team members.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience combination.
  • Experience: Typically, over 6 years of industry work experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience in infrastructure tech management.
  • Skills: Proficiency in technical knowledge and teamwork.
  • Continuous Learning: A continuous learner keeping up with industry knowledge and tech trends.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree: An advanced degree in a relevant field is a bonus.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications like CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, are beneficial.
