Job Overview

The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join its Bowel Care Nursing team. As a key member of the team, you will provide specialist care, advice, and support to patients undergoing surgery or treatments for pelvic floor disorders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Implement and evaluate care pathways for patients undergoing conservative and surgical treatments, under the supervision of the Lead CNS Pelvic Floor.
  • Attend bi-monthly SNM theatre sessions as support for the CNS Band 7 during the insertion of SNM devices and initial post-operative programming.
  • Liaise with external agencies and representatives from medical equipment suppliers.
  • Prepare and conduct nurse-led follow-up clinics, both face-to-face and telephone, for patients undergoing conservative treatments.
  • Retrieve and respond to telephone messages from the problem-solving help line.
  • Attend and actively participate in bi-monthly MDT meetings.
