About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to provide a holistic specialist nursing service for both benign and cancer patients across our acute hospital sites. As a Urology Specialist Nurse, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our urological nursing services.
Key Responsibilities- Work within urology nurse-led specialist teams, both hospital sites, in and out of hours within the acute hospital settings.
- Run protocol-driven urology nurse-led services.
- Work alongside on-call urology multidisciplinary teams when required.
- Teach and empower other healthcare professionals.
- Request pertinent investigations to inform diagnosis and patient surveillance pathways.
- Utilize electronic data, such as the Somerset Cancer Registry.
- Implement and contribute to the writing of standard operational policies and attend governance meetings.
- Recognize when help and guidance are required.
- Direct patient care.
- Participate in research and clinical trials.
- Instigate nursing audits and research.
- Support all urological nursing roles.
