About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our team as a Health Promotion Coordinator - Aboriginal Focus. As a key member of our Public Health - Health Promotion team, you will play a critical role in promoting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal populations within the North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) catchment area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, plan, implement, and evaluate health promotion interventions with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal populations to prevent chronic disease.
  • Determine strategic priorities for health promotion within the NMHS catchment area.
  • Collaborate with government departments, non-government organizations, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, and the community to ensure intersectoral support for health promotion initiatives.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on activities and outcomes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of health promotion principles and practices, as well as experience working with Aboriginal communities. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and have strong project management skills.
