The Data Protection Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the charity's compliance with UKGDPR and DPA2018. They will provide expert advice and guidance on data protection matters, fostering a culture of data protection within the charity and retail teams.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in data management and national and European data protection laws, as well as strong communication and multitasking skills. They will advise and support decision-making on the processing of Personal and Special Categories of Data, monitoring the charity's compliance with Data Protection Act Legislation.
The Data Protection Officer will serve as the primary point of contact for all data protection queries, data subjects, and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). They will lead in educating employees about data compliance, training staff involved in processing data, and conducting regular security audits.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice and guidance on data protection matters
- Foster a culture of data protection within the charity and retail teams
- Advise and support decision-making on data protection matters
- Monitor the charity's compliance with Data Protection Act Legislation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all data protection queries
- Lead in educating employees about data compliance
- Conduct regular security audits
