As a Trainee Youth Worker - Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex SEMH and SEN needs, covering a variety of needs from Communication and interaction difficulties, cognitive and learning problems along with social, emotional, mental emotional health including those with sensory and/or physical needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Support pupils with complex SEMH and SEN needs in a variety of settings, including academic and communicative development.
- Work collaboratively with a team of dedicated professionals to provide tailored and specific support for young people who have additional requirements.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of each pupil.
- Provide academic support to pupils, as well as pastoral care and guidance.
- Contribute to the creation of interactive and academically enriched learning experiences.
- Preferred 1 year experience in either psychiatric unit, Health & Social Care, residential or youth offending settings.
- The ability to take note of, and act on, all issues relating to the well-being and safeguarding of children.
- Prescient behavior management skills.
- Profound ambition to contribute towards positive change in a child's development.
- Willingness to undertake training days and professional development opportunities.
- A vibrant and unique work environment where staff and students share the same vision.
