Position Overview

The UCL Eastman Dental Institute is seeking to appoint a fixed-term teaching professional for the role of Associate Lecturer in European Politics. This position involves delivering a comprehensive module focused on the Politics of the European Union during the first term of the academic year. The successful candidate may also be required to assist in the evaluation of assignments for other courses taught by colleagues.

This module offers an in-depth analysis of the European Union (EU) and its pivotal political dynamics, including themes such as integration, disintegration (notably Brexit), Euroscepticism, institutional frameworks, and critical policy areas like the Single Market, Economic and Monetary Union, labor and welfare policies, and migration issues.

The role is intended to provide coverage for staff on leave and will encompass a duration of six months. The appointed individual will receive all necessary teaching materials, including reading lists, assessment questions, seminar outlines, and lecture presentations. The postholder will also be expected to maintain weekly office hours throughout the term.

Responsibilities will include delivering lectures and seminars, enhancing student engagement and support, and providing personal tutoring. The postholder will be tasked with grading assignments and will be available for student consultations as needed.

Candidate Profile
