About the Role
Are you interested in a pivotal position that focuses on overseeing the responsible and effective recycling of sewage sludge for agricultural purposes? Join Pertemps Thames Water as a leader in our bio recycling division, where you will be tasked with ensuring the safe and efficient recycling of sewage sludge within the agricultural sector.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Manage and nurture a geographically diverse technical team, ensuring the achievement of performance goals and objectives.
- Oversee the safe and efficient recycling of sewage sludge for agricultural clients in your designated area.
- Develop and maintain relationships with farmers, landowners, agronomists, and other stakeholders in rural communities to uphold and enhance the company's reputation and credibility.
- Collaborate with Environmental Health Officers and Environment Agency representatives to minimize the environmental impact of recycling operations.
- Coordinate with the broader recycling team to ensure effective management of operations and contracts, ultimately enhancing financial performance.
- Monitor contractor health and safety performance in agricultural operations.
- Source land for recycling biosolids, establishing and maintaining a land bank to meet current and future recycling needs.
- Manage the sales process, including providing fertiliser advice, pricing, land suitability assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Continuously develop and reassess procedures to enhance operational and financial performance.
What You Bring
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- A solid agricultural background with a comprehensive understanding of rural practices, ideally with sales experience in related fields such as Biosolid Management.
- The ability to communicate effectively with farmers, agronomists, and contractors.
- Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage your own time efficiently.
- Awareness of current agricultural initiatives and legislation.
- Qualifications such as FACTS or BASIS training would be advantageous.
What We Offer
We provide a competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £44,000 per annum, along with:
- 26 days of annual leave, increasing to 30 with service.
- A contributory pension scheme with a maximum employer contribution of 12%.
