About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Recycling Manager to lead our team in the Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and developing a geographically dispersed technical team, ensuring the delivery of performance targets and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Manage and develop a team of technical professionals, ensuring the delivery of performance targets and objectives.
  • Sewage Sludge Recycling: Safely and efficiently recycle sewage sludge for our customers in agriculture within a given geographical area.
  • Business Development: Develop, liaise with, and build relationships with farmers, land owners, agronomists, agents, and others in rural communities to maintain and build the company's reputation and credibility.
  • Environmental Compliance: Liaise with Environmental Health Officers, Environment Agency Officers, and local communities to ensure that the recycling operations have a minimum impact on the environment and the public.
  • Contract Management: Coordinate with the broader recycling team to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient management of the recycling operation and contract.
  • Health and Safety: Monitor the contractor's Health and Safety performance of agricultural operations in a defined area.
  • Land Sourcing: Source land for recycling biosolids, building and maintaining a land bank to sustain the company's recycling requirement.
  • Sales and Marketing: Manage the sales process, including fertiliser advice, pricing and availability, land suitability, soil sampling, risk assessment of land to be spread and stockpiled site.
Requirements
  • Agricultural Background: An agricultural background with a good knowledge of rural practice is essential.
  • Sales Experience: Sales experience in a similar field such as Biosolid Management is desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Confident communication skills to talk to farmers, agronomists, and contractors.
  • Organisational Skills: Organised, flexible, responsive to change, and able to manage your own time.
  • Industry Knowledge: Awareness of current agricultural initiatives and legislation, such as the Nitrates Directive and Cross-Compliance.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary: Competitive salary from £30,000 - £44,000 per annum.
  • Holiday Entitlement: 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service (Plus bank holidays).
