Electromagnetic Engineering Specialist

Techniche Global Ltd is seeking an experienced Electromagnetic Engineering Specialist to support a manufacturing/automotive company in appointing a long-term contract assignment at their Technical Research & Development facility in Cranfield, UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Electrical & Electronic Test team with validation of Whole Vehicle EMC tests, E&E Systems & Electronic parts EMC tests, and EMC Reg 10 tests.
  • Develop and set up new test systems and arrangements for EMC work specific to EV CCS (AC & DC chargers).
  • Work on EMC test setup for V2L, V2G, V2X, and Autonomous drive systems.
  • Creation of test plans to meet project and design milestones.
  • Formal reporting of test results to design sections and upper management.
  • Root cause investigation and countermeasure recommendation.
  • Technical support to the production plant when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in automotive vehicle & electrical and electronic system development & generic EMC test standards.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel abroad, typically for a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions travel may be long distance and for up to 10 weeks and/or at short notice.
  • Competent with PC applications, including Microsoft Excel and Project.
  • Self-motivating and self-managing, with a proactive, positive, energetic personality and flexible working practice and hours.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Understanding of electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices.
  • Fluent written and verbal English language capability.
  • Experience of using automotive CAD tools.
