Job Overview

Core Responsibilities:

In alignment with the policies set forth by the educational institution and the governing authority, the responsibilities of educators, both those in leadership and non-leadership roles, include executing tasks as directed by the Head Teacher while maintaining a reasonable workload across the following areas: (a) instructing designated classes along with necessary preparation and assessment (b) enhancing the educational curriculum (c) evaluating, documenting, and reporting student progress (d) preparing students for assessments and assisting with their administration (e) offering guidance and support to students regarding educational matters (f) ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of students (g) collaborating with parents, support personnel, and other professionals (h) engaging in relevant and agreed-upon Continuing Professional Development (i) participating in school planning, achievement enhancement, and individual evaluations (j) contributing to maintaining order and addressing the broader needs of the school.

Specific Duties for Principal Teachers (ASfL)

All Principal Teachers in Additional Support for Learning are expected to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in Annex B of "A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century":
(a) leading, managing effectively, and providing strategic direction for colleagues (b) overseeing curriculum development and ensuring quality (c) contributing to school policy development regarding behavior management for students with Additional Support Needs (d) managing and guiding colleagues (e) assessing the professional development needs, career progression, and performance of ASfL staff (f) providing advice, support, and guidance to colleagues regarding ASfL across the Associated School Group as needed (g) leading, managing effectively, and providing strategic direction for pastoral care within enhanced provisions (h) supporting the development of school policy for behavior management of students within enhanced provisions (i) implementing comprehensive school policies addressing pastoral care, assessment, and student welfare (j) collaborating with colleagues, parents, specialized agencies, and staff from other educational institutions as appropriate.
