Job Summary
Aberdeenshire Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Outreach Practitioner to join our team. As an Enhanced Provision Outreach Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing advice and support to mainstream primary schools to meet the additional support needs of children within their settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance to schools on how to meet the additional support needs of children.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and service delivery.
- Conduct needs assessments and develop plans to support schools in meeting the additional support needs of children.
- Work closely with schools to develop and implement strategies to improve outcomes for children with additional support needs.
- Provide training and support to schools on how to meet the additional support needs of children.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications and experience in a related field.
- Strong knowledge of the additional support needs of children and the requirements of mainstream schools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to schools across the Aberdeenshire area.
Working Arrangements
This post is attached to the Fraserburgh cluster of schools and flexible working across the cluster is required for operational and service needs.
The post holder will be required to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
The post holder will be required to obtain SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.
This post will require you to have obtained at least 2 references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.
