Position Overview

The Senior Emergency Response Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective service delivery across various teams of volunteers. This position involves a blend of office duties, community engagement, and hybrid work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of emergency response services across multiple volunteer teams, ensuring coverage in a wide geographical area.
  • Actively seek and incorporate feedback from volunteers and service users to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Collaborate with external partners to expand and refine our service offerings.
  • Motivate and guide teams to achieve high performance, meeting both local and organizational objectives.
  • Respond primarily to domestic fire incidents, while also providing assistance during major emergencies such as floods, wildfires, and power outages. Past support has included humanitarian aid for refugees and individuals affected by crises.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in fostering effective internal relationships, particularly with volunteers.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing projects and aligning day-to-day tasks with broader organizational goals.
  • Competence in budget creation and data management.
  • Strong proficiency in IT and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to contribute to the formulation of operational strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills across various levels.
  • Understanding of service quality improvement to meet user needs.
  • Capability to respond to emergencies, including on-call duties as necessary.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
