About The Role
The British Red Cross is seeking a highly motivated and well-organized individual to fill the position of Senior Emergency Response Officer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of our emergency response services across a broad geographical area.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the activities of up to six teams of volunteers, ensuring effective delivery of emergency response services.
- Listen to feedback from volunteers and service users, and work to implement improvements to our processes and procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to grow and develop our emergency response services.
- Inspire and empower teams to perform at a high level, achieving local and organizational targets.
- Respond to emergency situations, including domestic fires, major incidents, and other crises, such as flooding, wildfires, or power outages.
Requirements
- Experience in managing and coordinating teams, ideally in a volunteer-led organization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with volunteers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze data and create budgets, with a focus on delivering results and achieving targets.
- Strong IT skills, with proficiency in a range of software applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
