Job Title: Band 6 Chemotherapy Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Chemotherapy Nurse to join our Acute Oncology Team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients with cancer, focusing on chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate programmes of evidenced-based nursing care for patients with cancer.
  • Work collaboratively with oncologists, haematologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in systemic anti-cancer treatments and their administration.
  • Support the Acute Oncology Team in delivering the Acute Oncology Service for relevant cancer patients.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of clinical guidelines, clinical audit programs, and education initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Registration on Part 1 or 12 of NMC Register (RGN or RN Adult)
  • Degree in a relevant health-related subject
  • Recognised SACT chemotherapy course
  • Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience
  • Minimum of 2 years in a related specialty at a previous grade
