Job Description

Role Overview:

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of critical IT systems, with a focus on Windows Server environments, virtualisation, and cloud infrastructure. The role requires technical leadership, proactive incident management, and collaboration across global teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (2012R2, 2016, 2019, 2022) and Active Directory services.
  • Administer VMware (vSphere 7.x), Cisco UCS, and NetApp storage systems.
  • Oversee Azure and AWS IAAS deployments.
  • Utilise System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Manage backup and archiving systems (Commvault/Cohesity).
  • Lead technical initiatives, mentor junior team members, and resolve high-level incidents.
  • Maintain clear documentation and ensure adherence to IT standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.
  • Proficiency in VMware (vSphere ESXi 7.x) and Cisco UCS.
  • Strong understanding of SAN technologies (NetApp preferred).
  • Experience with Azure, AWS IAAS, and automation via PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with SCOM, SCCM, and backup technologies (Commvault/Cohesity).
  • Solid knowledge of disaster recovery and patch management tools (Ivanti/Qualys preferred).
