Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Academic Tutor. As a tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic journey, providing guidance and assistance in a variety of subjects.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and small group tutoring to students in mathematics and life and physical science courses.
  • Assist students in understanding course material and learning objectives.
  • Help students develop problem-solving skills and study techniques.
  • Work closely with instructors to obtain course syllabi and materials.
  • Communicate effectively with students, instructors, and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance tutoring skills.
Qualifications
  • Current enrollment as a USU Eastern student with 6 or more credits or a community member with relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of one or more relevant courses with a B or better.
  • Experience working with students in a tutoring or academic support setting.
