Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a quality assurance framework that meets sector requirements and is benchmarked against best practice
  • Lead and manage a team of quality assurance professionals to ensure that our quality assurance processes are robust and effective
  • Monitor and evaluate standards and performance within the college, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them
  • Lead on the implementation of quality improvement initiatives, including the development of a quality improvement plan and the monitoring of progress against it
  • Work closely with the Vice Principal for Quality to ensure that our quality assurance processes are aligned with the college's overall strategy and goals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external awarding bodies and other stakeholders to ensure that we meet their requirements and expectations

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree or level 4 qualification
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Recognised Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of young people

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of working as a Moderator, Senior Verifier, or External Quality Assurer (EQA)
  • Specialist quality assurance qualification or training
  • Experience of managing performance management processes and evaluating MIS data and other quality performance indicators
  • Experience of developing and delivering a quality assurance framework across an organisation
  • Experience of working within Further Education teaching and learning/quality systems
  • Experience of writing Board papers and presenting data sets to Governing Board
