Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at a premium bar company in the Brixton Area. As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Training and Developing Staff: You will be responsible for training and developing staff at all levels, including cocktail creation and costings, inventory control, and planning and organizing creative working ideas.
  • Cocktail Creations and Costings: You will be responsible for creating and costing cocktails, as well as managing the busy bar.
  • Inventory Control: You will be responsible for managing inventory, including stock taking and inventories.
  • Profit and Loss Understanding: You will be responsible for understanding profit and loss accounts, as well as being commercially minded.
  • Customer Service: You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, including being guest-focused and proactive in dealing with customer complaints.
  • Team Management: You will be responsible for managing a team of over 40 staff, including instructing clear instructions to senior management team and staff members.
  • Events and Live Music: You will be responsible for working with live DJs and musicians, as well as understanding events and being able to manage them effectively.
  • Licence Holder: You will be responsible for being a licence holder and being able to deal with licensing legislation and authorities.

Requirements:

  • Experience: You will need to have experience in a similar high-end cocktail bar or club background, with a strong understanding of cocktails and creations.
  • Leadership Skills: You will need to have strong leadership skills, including being able to motivate and develop staff, as well as being able to think on your feet and come up with conclusive ideas.
  • Commercial Awareness: You will need to have a strong understanding of commercial awareness, including profit and loss accounts and being able to manage inventory effectively.
  • Customer Service: You will need to have excellent customer service skills, including being guest-focused and proactive in dealing with customer complaints.
  • Flexibility: You will need to be flexible and able to work late night hours, as well as being able to deal with different types of clientele.
