Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Performance:
    1. Analyse monthly financial results to identify key variances and provide recommendations for improvement.
    2. Act as a business partner for budget holders and senior leaders, providing guidance on commercial matters and promoting financial understanding.
    3. Work with stakeholders to track and analyse corporate overhead costs, building rapport and holding them accountable for budget delivery.
    4. Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to create and distribute financial results and scorecards via automated systems.
    5. Ensure financial KPIs are relevant to the division and provide clear, accurate reporting, highlighting key trends to inform decision-making.
    6. Effectively communicate performance to the business, challenging budget holders and maintaining accountability.
    7. Lead the financial appraisal of ad-hoc projects and conduct analysis as requested by senior leaders.
  2. Budget and Forecast:
    1. Lead the operating cost centre budgeting process across all corporate overheads, ensuring group alignment on timelines and relevant analysis.
    2. Maintain a budget and forecast financial model to ensure consistency of data and process across all areas, including inclusion of relevant KPIs.
    3. Support the Head of FP&A and the Business Intelligence team to implement automated budgeting and modelling tools.
    4. Be accountable for responding to queries raised directly to the job holder.
    5. Financial Business Partnering:
      1. Provide timely delivery of monthly reports and scorecards, with support from the Business Intelligence team.
      2. Provide training and support on financial awareness for senior leaders in operational teams.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Be part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or have equivalent experience.
  • Have a proven track record in a similar role.
  • Have advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Be an excellent written and verbal communicator.
  • Have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Be able to present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.
