Casual Enablement Care Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Casual Enablement Care Worker to join our team at Richmond and Wandsworth Councils.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Casual Enablement Care Worker to work with our Keep Independent Through Enablement (KITE) team, providing short-term support to individuals in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support individuals in their daily activities to regain their independence, such as meal preparation, personal care, and managing their own medication.
  • Collaborate with families, enablement officers, managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe, effective, responsive, and caring service.
  • Support individuals in developing personalized care plans to meet their specific goals.
  • Deliver care in a way that demonstrates compassion, empathy, and respect for the personal dignity of individuals.
  • Report signs of abuse, identified risks, and changes in health status to the appropriate health or social care professionals.
Requirements
  • NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards and attain this.
  • Continual professional development by attending training.
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats.
  • Ability to motivate people and help build their confidence.
  • Awareness of and respect for people's diverse backgrounds and needs.

Our service is designed for individuals who have been discharged from hospital or whose health and ability has deteriorated.
