Astute People's Nuclear team is collaborating with a renowned provider of complex engineering solutions and services to the nuclear energy, industrial, and petrochemical sector to recruit a Project Director for its Derby office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a major nuclear new build EPC project, ensuring compliance with strategic goals, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
  • Implement and sustain robust project governance, overseeing engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive project plan, encompassing scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management strategies.
  • Ensure timely project delivery, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Deliver regular project status updates to senior management and stakeholders, including progress reports, financial updates, and risk assessments.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive project reports for board meetings and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince 2).
  • New Build EPC experience using staged gate / RIBA approach on a brownfield site.
  • Nuclear based experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management within the nuclear or energy sectors, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large-scale EPC projects.
Personal Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Knowledgeable in nuclear industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Proven in delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
