We are seeking a skilled professional to join Talbots as a Lead Legal Associate within the Guardianship and Protection Division. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years' experience managing a diverse caseload focused on Guardianship and Protection issues.

As a Lead Legal Associate, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional client service while handling a comprehensive range of Guardianship and Protection tasks and contributing to the training and development of the Guardianship team. This role will also involve participation in business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and assisting with a varied caseload, providing guidance to clients on a full spectrum of related matters in Guardianship and Protection, including applications for the appointment of Deputies for Property & Financial Affairs, Health & Welfare, and Statutory Wills.
  • Collaborating with Independent Financial Advisors regarding the investment of client funds and managing claims for benefits from relevant authorities.
  • Advising clients on contested Guardianship matters, including claims related to the Deprivation of Liberty and supporting Attorneys and Lay Deputies during investigations.
  • Maintaining compliance with relevant software and regulatory standards.

Qualifications Required:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a background in a similar role within a Guardianship and Protection Division.
  • In-depth knowledge of Guardianship and Protection processes, including client advisement and investigations.
  • Proficient understanding of various issues related to Guardianship and the Office of the Public Guardian.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding client care and possessing excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Familiarity with case management systems and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
