MEP H&S Compliance Lead

About the Role:

PW Construction Recruitment is seeking an experienced MEP H&S Compliance Lead to join our award-winning M&E contractor client based in Kent.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in the relevant field of operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs specific to MEP activities.
  • Create, maintain, and review all health & safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and CPP documentation.
  • Monitor H&S on every site, including carrying out H&S audits on major site visits (at least bi-weekly).
  • Action any requirements raised within the H&S audit on the ground, raising anything serious with the Senior PM Team by phone and then followed up by email.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Document inspection findings and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Provide safety training and implement safety training programs for all personnel, including new employee orientations and ongoing toolbox talks.
  • Ensure all members of staff have a full understanding of the safety practices and procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, determining root causes and implementing corrective measures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records and documentation.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain incident detailed reporting documentation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety matters.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate safety into all phases of project delivery.

Requirements:

  • IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualification with proof of certificate(s).
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in the relevant field of operation.
  • Ability to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports.
