About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Teaching Assistant to join our team at an outstanding Primary School in North Tyneside. The successful candidate will have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour and SEND.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with challenging behaviour and SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Manage challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner
- Build positive relationships with Class Teachers to support pupils and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities to promote pupil progress
- Prepare resources for lessons
- Supervise pupils at break times and lunch times as required
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service)
- Recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 3 ideal, but Level 2 considered)
- Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant within Schools in the UK
- Ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff
- Resilient, proactive, and positive nature
- High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils
- Genuine passion for helping young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education
