About the Role:

The position involves supporting pupils with various special educational needs and challenging behavior on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. This includes pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and PMLD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver intervention sessions to small groups of pupils to enhance their understanding and progress.
  • Develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of pupils within the classroom, working closely with Class Teachers and colleagues.
  • Support pupils across the school at breaktimes and lunchtimes as required.

The school is an inspirational Primary School in Newcastle, offering opportunities to support pupils across the school from EYFS to Year 6. The school has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work together to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours, and Contract:

  • Pay: Between £80-95 per day.
  • Hours: 08.30-16.00.
  • Contract: Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract.
  • Location: Newcastle.

Requirements:

  • QTS, Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or Level 3 Childcare-based Qualification.
  • Experience of working with children in schools in the UK.
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature.
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last two years.
