Position Overview
The House of Commons is seeking a dedicated Finance Business Partner to become an integral part of the Finance, Portfolio and Performance (FPP) team. This role is essential in ensuring that financial stewardship and public value are at the forefront of decision-making within the organization. The FPP team plays a vital role in supporting the House of Commons' mission by focusing on business and financial planning, performance evaluation, and the management of various initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
As a Finance Business Partner, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing and nurturing strong relationships across the House to facilitate effective financial management.
- Engaging in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Providing comprehensive analysis of financial data to inform decision-making processes.
- Assisting in long-term planning and evaluating investment proposals.
- Collaborating with the central financial management team and project management units to ensure financial interests are well represented.
This position also involves contributing to the implementation of recommendations from a recent independent review aimed at enhancing financial management practices within the House of Commons.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- CCAB or CIMA qualified, or part-qualified (including AAT Level 4).
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in fostering collaboration and driving organizational objectives.
- Adept at tailoring communication styles to suit various audiences, influencing effectively at all levels.
- Proven ability to lead teams and build strong partnerships to achieve shared goals while promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary of £41,340, complemented by a contribution of £11,161 towards membership in the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Additional benefits include:
