In response to ongoing expansion, our client, a leader in the marine sector, is seeking to recruit a Proposal Engineer on a permanent basis.

The Proposal Engineer plays a pivotal role in our client's strategic growth initiatives, tasked with developing and presenting customized proposals that resonate with client requirements and align with their overarching objectives. This position necessitates a blend of innovative thinking and precision, as the individual must effectively articulate our strengths while complying with both client expectations and industry standards.

This role involves close collaboration with Key Account Managers, internal specialists, and various stakeholders, synthesizing diverse perspectives into each proposal. Regular engagement with clients is crucial to accurately grasp their needs, ensuring that our client's submissions are both persuasive and tailored.

The Proposal Engineer is responsible for overseeing the organization and prioritization of all proposals within the business unit, constructing cost models, and managing the client relationship management (CRM) system. This position also includes leading the existing proposal team to support multiple opportunities with a focus on quality, ensuring timely and high-standard responses that propel our business forward.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Educational Qualifications:

  • Relevant Degree: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications: Credentials in proposal development, project management, or similar fields.
  • Industry Experience: Familiarity with the Energy Sector, particularly Oil & Gas and Renewables.
  • Market Awareness: Keeping informed about trends and advancements within the industry.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.

Technical Competencies:

  • Document Management: Proficient in organizing and managing proposal documentation.
  • Data Interpretation: Ability to analyze and interpret client needs and market dynamics.
  • Software Proficiency: Highly skilled in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • CRM Systems: Experience with industry-relevant CRM software platforms.

Professional Experience:

  • Proposal Development: Proven experience in creating detailed and persuasive proposals.
  • Project Coordination: Background in managing projects, particularly during planning and execution phases.
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading and inspiring a proposal team within a similar organization.
  • Client Engagement: Experience in interacting with clients and understanding their requirements.

  • Delivers proposals of the highest standard, with meticulous attention to detail and a focus on customizing offerings to meet specific client requirements.
  • Develops accurate and competitive cost models, aligning pricing with project scope and requirements, demonstrating strong financial acumen.
  • Effectively manages and tracks proposal activities within the CRM system, ensuring efficient and organized handling of the proposal process.
  • Conducts market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends, ensuring proposals are competitive and relevant.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills in liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective information flow.
