Ground Operations Risk, Compliance & Readiness Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join the British Airways family as a Ground Operations Risk, Compliance & Readiness Manager. As a key member of the Operations team, you will provide expertise and support to ensure oversight of safety, security, operational risk, and compliance across our ground operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate incidents and conduct audit/assurance activity to identify trends and proactively address them.
  • Analyse data and produce management information and communications to mitigate risk and promote a just culture.
  • Work with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure compliance and safety standards are met.
  • Lead on business resilience, cross-cutting operational change projects, and operational readiness activity.
  • Coordinate the departmental approach to safety risk management and compliance oversight.
  • Produce Ground Operations content for monthly Safety Advisory Groups and quarterly Safety & Compliance Review Board.
  • Plan and conduct regular checks/inspections at London Gatwick and outstations to monitor and advise on compliance and ground safety performance.
  • Manage and review the Station Operational Compliance Check (eSOCC) process and question bank.
  • Represent BA Euroflyer at relevant British Airways ground safety and compliance meetings.
Requirements:
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills with ability to present information clearly to others.
  • Able to influence effectively to ensure business needs are met.
  • Flexible and 'hands-on' approach to the role and supporting the other areas of the operation as required.
  • Able and willing to support the business and operation outside of normal working hours when required.
  • Hold valid passport with the ability to travel to locations throughout Europe.
  • Previous experience of working in an operational role with an airline/ground handling agent, with a strong focus on operational compliance and ground safety.
  • Experience in carrying out ground operations audit activities.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications and experience of producing reports and presentations.
