About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Geriatrician to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a Consultant Geriatrician, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our geriatric medicine services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert medical care to patients with complex geriatric needs
  • Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to improve patient outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of our geriatric medicine services, including service redesign and quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in education and training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of healthcare professionals

Requirements

  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualification
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for geriatric medicine and general internal medicine
  • Extensive medical experience at registrar or consultant level, with competency to manage on-call emergencies at senior level
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NHS and clinical governance
  • Experience of working with managers to improve patient experience and service delivery
