Job Title: Lead Economic Analyst

Oxford Economics, a leading global economic research and consultancy firm, is seeking a highly skilled Lead Economic Analyst to join our Climate Modelling and Scenarios team in Oxford and London.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for project management of macroeconomic and climate-related consultancy projects. They will develop methodologies, conduct analysis, and present results to clients. Project teams typically include economists and/or senior economists, which the Lead Economic Analyst will oversee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project management and supervision of research studies;
  • Ensuring sound economic analyses in consulting projects;
  • Applying quantitative analytical techniques to datasets using software such as Excel, EViews, R, and Python;
  • Writing research proposals, reports, and presentations;
  • Planning and structuring projects, coordinating junior team members, and ensuring quality assurance;
Requirements
  • Strong academic education in economics (BA/BSc);
  • Excellent written English and strong communication skills;
  • Substantial experience in quantitative economic analysis and report-writing;
Desirable Qualifications
  • Postgraduate degree in economics or a climate-related discipline;
  • Experience in employee management and development;
  • Experience with quantitative analysis software;
  • Experience using applied macroeconomics models for forecasting and/or scenario analysis;
