CBSButler is seeking a highly experienced Commercial Lead to join our team in a senior commercial role on major capital projects. As a Commercial Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the client's Project Director with the front-end development process, interrogating and analyzing EPCM contractors' cost and commercial submissions, and providing cost input to the client project team and business support functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Contract Management: Review and analyze EPCM contractors' cost and commercial submissions, comparing costs with internal and/or external benchmarks to ensure value for money.
- Cost Challenge and Negotiation: Challenge client and contractor costs, providing a clear basis for challenge and ensuring that all parties follow the change management process.
- Cost Review and Analysis: Lead cost reviews and meetings with contractors on behalf of the client, providing cost input to the client project team and business support functions.
- Pre-Contract and Post-Contract Knowledge: Possess knowledge of the IChemE form of contract and be able to provide advice and guidance to the client.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in a senior commercial role on major capital projects, including experience with EPC or EPCM contracts.
- Strong commercial background, ideally client-side.
- Knowledge of the ICHEME form of contract and experience with major EPC or EPCM contracts.
- Ability to analyze and challenge costs, providing a clear basis for challenge.
