Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Planning Manager to join our team at Triumph Group. As a key member of our operations leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to our planning and commercial teams, ensuring efficient collaboration and driving business results.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, incorporating all supporting functions and presenting executive overviews to senior leadership.
  • Oversee the coordination of manufacturing order creation to the shop, analyzing Sales Order requirements and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Develop and implement requirements and standards to achieve business goals and performance metrics, fostering a cohesive standard of work.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Production, MRO, and Engineering to establish true capacity plans based on demands versus resource availability.
  • Monitor throughput and adherence to plan, reporting on recovery and constraints, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Enable the team to fully utilize the ERP system, developing reporting mechanisms and standardizing processes across the team.
  • Analyze inventory levels for purchased and manufactured goods, monitoring and managing material inventories, and reviewing factors affecting schedules.
  • Escalate materials issues internally and externally, communicating with supply chain and functional business contacts.
  • Report operational performance to customers, leading operational reviews, and escalating arrears and recovery plans.
  • Develop sales forecasts based on customer orderbooks, capacity, and arrears recovery, where applicable.
  • Improve and develop standard times for manufacturing processes, minimizing inventory input while maintaining on-time customer delivery.
  • Oversee schedule revisions due to production constraints, customer demand changes, or delays in the supply chain.
  • Create and maintain tracking systems for new and past due programs/projects, communicating plans and needs to team members.
  • Interact with Quality, Materials, Manufacturing, MRO, Shipping, and Assembly to ensure deliveries are met.
  • Coordinate with Operations Managers to adjust production schedules daily/weekly as needed to meet business and customer needs.
  • Review orderbook changes and challenge any changes in the demand profile with relevant customers.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
  • Foster positive relationships with internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Degree in Operations, Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience working within a planning and/or customer-facing role.
  • At least 2-3 years management experience, preferably within an aerospace manufacturer.
  • Strong leadership skills to overcome challenges and achieve results.
  • Mathematical ability and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong MS Office and ERP system understanding.
